I am applying for the job of Trustee on the Leander ISD school board. And just like any job, you (as the employer) have a right to ask about my background and the experience that qualifies me to work for you. - Married for 11 years to a wonderful woman
- 2 Children - a son age 6 and a daughter age 3
- Multi-year volunteer with various projects in Leander ISD
- Participated in E3 community discussion for Leander ISD
- Constant attendee at school board meetings
- Attended the Texas Public Policy Foundation primer on incentive pay
- Member and active participant in several student advocacy organizations
- Lived in LISD for 10 years and in central Texas for 24
- Active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
- Regular blood donor with Central Texas Blood & Tissue Center
- Worked in the computer industry for 13 years for large and small companies
- Long time NRA member
- Ultra-marathon runner and cyclist
Another thing that I strive to remember is that this is a servant position - as in I serve you, the parents and taxpayers of the district. A good servant leader, especially in public office, is something that every citizen deserves and should demand. With that as my guiding principle, I pledge the following: - I will respond to every question asked of me
- I will treat all money as if it were my own and spend it wisely
- I will ensure all students are challenged and equipped
- I will be open with decisions and documents
- I will encourage feedback
- I will be open to all solutions for improvement
- I will ensure that all employees are reachable
